What is in the scope
When computers, servers and phones leave your organisation, the data on them must not. We wipe or destroy media to recognised standards, document every serial number, and recycle or resell the hardware responsibly.
- Secure data destruction to DoD 5220.22-M
- IT asset disposition audit
- Chain-of-custody documentation and certificates
- Environmentally responsible recycling
How an engagement runs
From first meeting to hand-over
- Collect
- Serial numbers recorded, assets sealed and transported.
- Destroy
- Wiping or physical destruction, with photographic evidence.
- Certify
- A certificate of destruction per asset for your auditors.
Equipment and standards
We wipe to DoD 5220.22-M, dispose to NEMA requirements, and document each asset as the Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019 requires.
Before you get in touch
- How do we prove the data was destroyed?
- With a certificate and chain-of-custody documentation covering each asset, which is what your auditor will ask for. Wiping is to the DoD 5220.22-M standard.
- Can old equipment be resold instead of scrapped?
- Often, and the value comes off your disposal cost. Anything resold is wiped first and appears on the same audit trail as anything destroyed.
- What about equipment that is too old to resell?
- It is recycled responsibly rather than left in a store room or sold to whoever turns up. Disposal is the stage where data most often escapes an organisation.
